With the holidays just around the corner, I thought I would do a little something different with the recipe section this edition.  Fun and festive holiday drinks.  Perfect for parties or just something different while secretly watching all those holiday specials.
So, Cheers, Salute, Prost, Sanitas bona, Chin chin, À votre santé!, Salud! or however you may say it.  Have a safe, happy and healthy holiday season.

Christmas Cosmopolitan


• 1/2 oz.  Cointreu

• 1/2 oz.  cranberry juice 

• 1 tsp.  lime juice  fresh

• 1 oz.  Vodka 


Mixing instructions:

Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass.

Option: To garnish, float a few frozen cranberries after pouring.

 

Candy Cane Martini


• 1 1/2 oz.  Vodka 

• 1 tsp.  Peppermint Schnapps 


Mixing instructions:

Mix all ingredients with ice in a shaker. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Option: Garnish with a small candy cane or create a candy cane "rimmer" with crushed candy canes.

Snow Job


• 2 oz.  pear schnapps 

• 1 oz.  heavy cream  or half-and-half

Pinch  Cinnamon 


Mixing instructions:

Mix all ingredients (except cinnamon), with ice in a shaker or blender. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top.

Scroogedriver


• 4 to 5 oz.  orange juice  (fresh)

• 1 1/2 oz. Vodka 


Mixing instructions:

Mix orange juice and vodka in a highball glass filled with ice. A Christmas themed Screwdriver.

 

Last, a shot
Peppermint Patty


• 1/2 oz.  crème de cacao 

• 1/2 oz.  Peppermint Schnapps 

• 1 oz.  cream 


Mixing instructions:

Stir with ice, strain into shot glass.
